The Strategic Council for Women’s Entrepreneurship begins its work: a new step toward women’s economic empowerment
Within the framework of the project “Her Future,” the inaugural meeting for the establishment of the Strategic Council for Women’s Entrepreneurship was held today, marking the creation of a new mechanism to empower women in business and promote sustainable regional development.
The Council consists of 40 members representing municipalities, central institutions, civil society, chambers of commerce, universities, and other relevant stakeholders. Its role includes coordinating, overseeing, and ensuring the quality of the process for drafting the Strategic Measure for Women’s Entrepreneurship.
The meeting was opened by the Project Director, Mr. Valentin Hoxha, who emphasized the importance of this initiative for advancing women’s entrepreneurship in Kosovo. Support for the initiative was also expressed by institutional representatives, including the Deputy Mayor of Prizren, Mr. Kujtim Gashi, and the Director of the Department for Planning and Coordination of Regional Development at the Ministry of Regional Development, Mr. Ylber Çitaku, who reaffirmed their readiness for institutional cooperation.
During the meeting, the Mission Statement was approved and the first operational steps were agreed upon, including the appointment of regional coordinators. Key decisions regarding the functioning of the Council and the overall action plan were also adopted.
This development represents an important step toward building sustainable policies in support of women’s entrepreneurship in Kosovo.
